GARDEN GATEW AY
A flowery border
separates Richard
and Jeanette Olsen’s
front yard from their
driveway. A white arbor
offers passage to their
daughter, Andi.

andscaping a slope is
challenging. Tackling
two slopes is downright
intimidating—a situation
that Richard and
Jeanette Olsen faced in
the front yard of their Hinsdale,
Illinois, home. The ground
dropped steeply from the street to
the front door, and it also pitched
downward from left to right. No
wonder the Olsens liked the plan
created for them by the designers
at Hinsbrook Landscaping.
